Madhuri Dixit

Madhuri was an Indian actress who achieved fame for her role in the films Hum Aapke Haiin Koun and Beta Saajan. She was first known for the role she played in the 1980s film Tezaab and Tezaab, which she co-starred along with veteran actor Anil Koopor. The next film she appeared in was Dil where she was on screen with Aamir. When she was a kid her Mumbai-born dancer started developing her skills at a young age. When she was still in high school, she tried her hand at acting, however most films she attempted to make failed. She finally found success, and then went on to be one of the most prominent actors in the Indian film industry. She decided to take a break from acting due to her marriage, before going back to the world of entertainment. In recent years, Dixit had a major role to play in Gulaab Gang a movie about the struggles of women in India. Dixit was awarded fifteen Filmfare Awards nominations, of which eight she won. Padma Shri, the fourth-highest civilian award awarded to civilians in India was awarded to her. She also has a reputation for social activism.
